Buying Seeds

Buying seeds is not hard if you know what you are looking for. Their are many characteristics to look for in a seed.

Definition of a seed: ovule, which gives origin to new plant, that from which anything springs, origin.

Their are many characteristics to look for in a good seed. Some of the more common ones to look for are: the tolerancy of the seed (Ex. ph, climate, wetness), if it is edible(not poisonous to the animals living in the area), the size and color(these pertains to the ending size and color of the plant), if self-reproducer( plant reproduces aafter original planting), possible soil requirments(Ex. sandy , clay soils), life span( how long the average plant will live for).

Nurseries normally carry the same plants, this does not mean that each care for the plant and seed is the same. Always make sure that the nursery is certified, this meaning they are have been checked to be disease free. Purchasing and planting a diseased seed will not only in time kill the plant but many infest the soil, allowing nothing to be planted in that area for a couple of years. Not only do you have to worry about where to buy the seed, but also pay attention to when you make the purchase. The timing is important because if the seed sits around to long, the possible outcome of the plant could be damaged. Always try to purchase right before planting.

An alternate option would be to purchase a one or two year old plant. Increasing the chances of having a full, disease free life. The plant has formed its system and can fight for itself.
